Purdy caught my eye the second she was born. She was always a beautifully compact, balanced little puppy, and as she grew, it became clear why I was so drawn to her: she reminds me so much of her grandmother, Flare.

Her registered name, Flair Creek Miss Irrelevant, is a little nod to Brock Purdy and his unlikely rise from “Mr. Irrelevant” to the QB who led the niners to the Super Bowl in 2023. It felt fitting for our little Purdy, who may have been the last one born, but quickly made it very clear that she was anything but irrelevant around here!

Purdy is a bit of a badass. She loves to hunt and will bring home all sorts of wildlife from her adventures. She is particularly fond of possums and has been known to stuff one in her mouth and proudly carry it into the garage. Thankfully, her little victims have always arrived completely unscathed, albeit a little traumatized.

I’m especially partial to the temperaments I see in my Flare kids, and Purdy is such a wonderful example of what I love about them. She is fearless and outgoing without being pushy, and she has that wonderful combination of being low-energy, mild-mannered, and self-aware. Her eyes are incredibly soft and intelligent, and she seems to understand what I’m asking almost before I finish asking it.  Purdy learns quickly, thinks things through, and genuinely seems to enjoy figuring out what we're asking of her.

She may be Miss Irrelevant by name, but around here, Purdy is anything but. We absolutely adore this girl and are so excited to watch her continue the legacy of her grandmother, Flare.
